Pharmacological properties

ENROSTIM 10% refers to antibacterial drugs of the fluoroquinolone group.

Enrofloxacin, which is part of the drug. it has a wide spectrum of antibacterial and antimycoplasmic effects. It is active against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including

E.coli., Salmonella spp., Pasteurella haemolytica. Pasteurella multocida, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus hyicus, Streptococcus spp., Klebsiella spp.. Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Campylobacter spp., Corynebacterium pyogenes, Proteus spp., Mycoplasma spp., Brucella canis, Actinobacillus spp., Listeria monocytogenes, Haemophilus spp., Clostridium perfingens.

The mechanism of action of enrofloxacin is to inhibit the activity of the gyrase enzyme. ensuring the replication of the DNA helix in the nucleus of a bacterial cell, which leads to the death of the microorganism.

With oral administration, enrofloxacin is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, quickly enters the bloodstream and penetrates almost all organs and tissues, reaching a maximum concentration in 1.5-2.0 hours

after application, it remains in therapeutic concentration for 24 hours. Enrofloxacin is partially metabolized into ciprofloxacin and is excreted from the body mainly in the urine.

Application procedure

ENROSTIM 10% is prescribed to young cattle and small cattle, piglets and poultry for the treatment of respiratory diseases, colibacteriosis, salmonellosis, pasteurellosis, necrotic enteritis, hemophilosis, mycoplasmosis, campylobacter hepatitis, infections caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus spp., as well as mixed infections and secondary infections in viral diseases, whose pathogens are sensitive to enrofloxacin.

ENROSTIM 10% is administered orally to animals with water for drinking for 3-5 days in the following doses:

During the treatment period, animals should receive only water containing the drug. The therapeutic solution is prepared daily based on the daily needs of animals in water.

With salmonellosis, the drug is used in a two-fold therapeutic dose.

Contraindications:

Contraindication to the use of the drug is an increased individual sensitivity of the animal to fluoroquinolones (including in the anamnesis). The drug should not be used in cases of significant disorders of the development of cartilage tissue, lesions of the nervous system, accompanied by convulsions, as well as adult ruminants with developed cicatricial digestion. It is forbidden to use the drug to laying hens, due to the accumulation of enrofloxacin in eggs.

Warnings:

The peculiarities of the drug's action during its first use and cancellation were not revealed.

Skipping the next dose of the drug should be avoided, as this may lead to a decrease in therapeutic efficacy. If one dose is missed, the use of the drug is resumed in the same dosage and according to the same scheme.

Side effects and complications in animals when using a medicinal product in accordance with this instruction, as a rule, are not observed. In case of allergic reactions, the use of the drug is discontinued and antihistamines and symptomatic medications are prescribed to the animal.

Slaughter of calves, lambs and piglets for meat is allowed no earlier than 14 days, birds - no earlier than 11 days after the end of the use of the drug. The meat of animals forcibly killed before the expiration of the specified time limits can be used to feed fur-bearing animals.

The simultaneous use of ENROSTIM 10% with chloramphenicol, macrolides, tetracyclines, theophylline and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs is PROHIBITED.

Overdose:

With an overdose of the drug, the animal may experience a decrease in appetite, depression, vomiting, diarrhea.

Personal prevention measures:

When working with ENROSTIM 10%, the general rules of personal hygiene and safety provided for when working with medicines should be observed. While working with the drug, it is forbidden to drink, smoke and eat. At the end of the work, wash your face and hands thoroughly with soap.

People with hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolones should avoid direct contact with the drug. If the drug accidentally gets on the skin or mucous membranes, it must be washed off with running water and soap. In case of allergic reactions and / or accidental ingestion of the drug, you should immediately contact a medical institution (have the instructions for the use of the drug or the label with you).

Storage conditions and terms

The drug is stored in the manufacturer's closed packaging in a dry place protected from direct sunlight, separate from food and feed, at a temperature from 5 ° C to 25 ° C.

The shelf life of the medicinal product, subject to storage conditions, is 2 years from the date of manufacture.

It is prohibited to use the drug after the expiration date.

ENROTIM 10% should be stored in places inaccessible to children.

It is prohibited to use containers from under the drug for household purposes, it is subject to disposal with household waste.

Unused medicinal product with expired shelf life is disposed of in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.
